Sorry DeNunzio, Lou raised the price of coke since he's been losing at the track.

There are 2 types of IR; LT and ST. Short Term is at a minimum of 7 days from the onset of the injury or illness. They can attend meetings, participate in practice etc., but not pre-game warm-ups or wear unis.

Once on IR, the club can replace the player with another and will not count against the roster limit but will be subject to the salary cap limits.

So, by putting Semin and Green on IR, they free up roster space, not cap space, to bring up 4 guys.

Thanks Greg S.
I knew I read something like that somewhere, but I didn't feel like looking it up.

@ Greg S.,

Thanks for the great explanation. Now we know why Semin and Green are out for this couple of games. It does look like they are likely to come back on Friday. That would be great!

Allowed 23 active roster players. Caps have 23 (Pothier is 24). Clark and Schultz go on LTIR. That frees up roster AND salary cap space. Now at 21. Add 4 from Hershey, we're 2 over. Placing Semin and Green on IR brings us back to 23.

What is expected minutes-wise from each of the four call ups in tonight's game, Alzner in particular?

Stop worrying about the roster, and start getting ready to "Unleash the Lepisto!"

Great name, sounds like a high school football coach's favorite screw up. "Goddamnit DeNunzio! Get off your ass and make a tackle! DENUNZIOOOOOOOOOOO!"

DeNunzio-"What do you got in here, rocks?"

Czervik-"Are you kidding me? Why, when I was your age I used to lug fifty pound blocks of ice up 5, 6 flights of stairs"

DeNunzio-"So what!"

Czervik-"So what? So let's dance!"

Carl Spackler - And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort."

And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness."

So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.
