The crowd of 113,411 on hand at Michigan Stadium to watch Michigan and Michigan State face off in The Big Chill at the Big House has set a new world record for attendance at a hockey game. It's also the biggest crowd for any NCAA event.

Earlier this year, Germany hosted a game at the world championship in front of 77,803 in Veltins Arena. The upcoming Winter Classic between the Capitals and the Penguins at Heinz Field is expected to draw about 65,000 fans.

The problem is that Jacques Martin wrote a manual last April, "How to Beat the Washinton Capitals in 7 Easy Steps," and every coach in the league has a copy.

Every coach except Boudreau apparently.

Chap 1 - play a third man back to avoid 2 on 1s their way.

Chap 2 - Absolutely never try to match their run-n-gun style.

Chap 3 - When on the PK, clodg the slot! I know blocking those shots hurts, but it hurts worse to lose!

Chap 4 - Don't forget to watch the back door!

Chap 5 - Don't worry about in front of your own net, the Caps don't go there! They'd rather shoot from the perimeter!

Chap 6 - Wait for them to get frustrated, then you'll get your chances.

Chap 7 - When they are reeling and back on their heels, attack their net! (See film of Crosby setting up a picnic table and cloth and having coffee in Caps crease before tapping in a goal unimpeded.)

And, voila! You win!

@capfan387- What did your comments have to do with the blog post other than pointing out that Tom's post didn't have anything to do with the post? Stay classy. BTW, nice post Tom, clever as always.
