Glad that Mink got recalled, but would love to see him on the 2nd line in place of Bradley. I think he'd score a goal or two. Has very nice hands from the little I saw him a few games ago.

Thought I'd repost this on the latest thread so that no one missed this exciting bit of news.

Just came across this great news regarding the NHL Network. Now it's definitely worth getting?

US Hockey has signed an agreement part of which will be televising all of the US and Canada games in the World Junior championships on the NHL Network, in HD no less! They will also televise all medal round games.

I think I just found an alternative game to watch tonight since we can't watch the Caps.

"I am really happy to be back in Calgary, I love Canada," Avery said on camera this morning in Calgary. "I just want to comment on how it's become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don't know what that's about. Enjoy the game tonight."

For the record, Calgary star D-man Dion Phaneuf is currently dating actress Elisha Cuthbert, Avery's ex.

Here's a video of Avery's post morning skate comments:

Unfortunately, the NHL has suspended him indefinitely. No doubt to avoid a bloodbath.

Avery was suspended for that comment

I had nothing to do, so I am throwing some fuel into the fire; some one posted:

"Aside from having one of the best play-by-play guys in Joe-B,..."

In my opinion, this is true if you love baseball's play-by-play sportscasters; you know, the ones that talk about how the guy on deck has suffered all his life, and how he found his wife having an affair with an old neighbor, but he forgave her - "swing and miss" - when he found Christ, so they celebrated - "ball" - by going to one of the nicest steak restaurants - strike 2 - where they ate the best stew in town ... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ...

Great play-by-play guy.

I keep hearing that we are trying to trade Nylander....I think that would be foolish considering(other than he is a good player who has not been given proper ice time) that Federov WILL NOT be back next year. Kozlov is also in the last year of his contract. So up the middle we have Backstrom and who? Gordon is a nice faceoff guy/defensive forward, but he no scorer. Nylander still has a couple years under contract....We should keep him for it's duration.

Liking or not liking announcers is very subjective. I think that the Caps team is pretty good and have a nice chemistry. My favorite tandem ever were Gary Thorne and Bill Clement of ESPN. Currently, I think the Bruins tandem of Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley blows everyone away. Jack has a great voice and is practically a stand-up comedian while Brickley is extremely sharp and a great analyst. Nothing gets past that guy. They also have tremendous chemistry.

But those are just my opinions. Some people don't like Mike Emrick, yet he was just indicted into the Hockey Hall of Fame for what he does.

Couldn't agree more on the Nylander comments. Have been saying it all along. He's been one of our best forwards recently and him and Flash have found immediate chemistry. The man knows how to hold on to the puck and makes great passes. Yeah, I wish he would shoot more, but you can't teach an old dog new tricks. He's a bonafide #2 center. Keep him.
