Tonight's Lineup: Penguins at Caps (Updated)

Simeon Varlamov and the Caps will be going for a fifth straight victory tonight against the Pens in Game 2 of the semifinals. Varlamov is expected to oppose Pittsburgh's Marc-Andre Fleury.

Defenseman John Erskine (foot/leg) and Jeff Schultz (back) are out for the Caps, as are Michael Nylander (healthy) and Donald Brashear (suspended). Erskine will be replaced by either Karl Alzner or Tyler Sloan.

Based on the warm-up, the rest of the Caps' lineup should look like this:

Forwards
Ovechkin-Fedorov-Kozlov
Fleischmann-Backstrom-Semin
Laich-Steckel-Bradley
Clark-Gordon-Fehr

Defense
Morrisonn-Green
Poti-Jurcina
Sloan/Alzner-Pothier

I'll update in a few when I'm sure about Sloan/Alzner. Both took warmups, though only Sloan did the rushes.

Update:Sloan is in, I'm told.

Does anyone here have any idea/suggestions of who will take Brash's spot on the team. He is apparently going to sign in KHL next week.

ice and rest up Erskine...

The real story of the day should be the FedEx tracking number on Varly's new glove. I mean NORAD should be putting up it's progress around the world just like the Santa tracker

Joe Finley comes to mind for pure brute force :)
The "new" NHL is trying to run out the true enforcers in the game. We have some strength on it's way. Finley and Della Rovere have been trying to make some noise, but are a year or two away.

Actually I remember an article that said Brash was going over to Russia with Ovie and Semin this summer, so that may not be too far fetched....

Oh mill, HTS! You still got District CableVision?

As for VS, it used to be called the Outdoor Life Channel (OLN). It's 603 on DirecTV

tariq, can you let us know how bad the ice is tonight compared to MSG? the door seals and the A/C horsepower at VC are just substandard for the building space in a normal may, but we've lucked out on the weather so far. we might not have a problem until the next round (not jinxin', just sayin'...)

On Ovi's site it states that he'll be flying out next week with his agent to sign with KHL.
