Varlamov Comes Out First

No huge surprise here, but rookie goalie Simeon Varlamov came onto the ice first here at MSG for warm-ups, which generally means he's going to start in goal.

Caps win because I said so. I have a good feeling about tonight... didnt the last two games.

they better do more than just beat them, they need to pound them on the scoreboard and pound them all over the ice if they want to deliver a strong message that this series is far from over.

828, how about the Ducks pulling it off last night. That 3rd goal was a killer, huh.

From previous thread-

Lets go Caps!!!

1. What was the percentage the caps make the playoffs last year, and win the division, after they fired their coach?

2. What's the percentage a d-man scores in 8 straight games!? Or gets 30 goals!?

This team is all about defeating the odds. Its when they play their best.

I'd love any win... ugly, OT, anything. Just to clear Caps' minds and give them some confidence. Wouldn't mind a crushing victory either...

I could care less who's in goal...WE JUST NEED TO SCORE SOME GOALS OURSELVES!! The netminding will be fine.

gonna have to start playing playoff hockey; doing the little things, skating 110% say 110% of the time...backchecking forechecking...blocking shots...taking hits to make passes or get after rebound or giving screens...

moving without the puck...

not making rookie mistakes...staying home on d...

and no bad penalties...

I agree the Rangers are playing great, and the Caps have not in the last two months, although, meaningless statistics might show otherwise. But, I think the Caps are capable of winning the series. I would suggest OV and Semin in the same line, we don't need to spread the firepower, I would not mind inserting Clark even if it is in the fourth line, definitely let Brasheer sit, we don't need another slow poke, and, until proven otherwise, Varly at goal.

i think we played better playoff hockey last least it evolved over the course of that series..

wish we woulda started where we left off there...

better start to evolve again quick!!!

Funny how this Rangers team isn't as good as last year's Flyers team we faced and we're better this year then we were last year.. but down 0-2. Something's gotta turn around.

Like there was ever a question. Varlamov gives us a much better chance to compete and to win.
