Here's Tarik's latest video update (Internet was spotty so the quality isn't great) from the Caps' hotel in downtown Pittsburgh:

I know there's a lot of demand for Caps information these days...but I think the quality and thought of your written entries, no matter how far spaced out, are certainly preferable to video.

Maybe we ask too much?

Tarik, any word on Erskine or Fehr? Fedorov?

Question for Tarik:

has there any discussion about the coming back to back games as it relates to starting goalie???

The Pens point to puck possession and shots as the indicator that the Pens have dominated in the series, perhaps this is (at least in part) due to the difference in power plays. I agree with you that the team getting outworked draws more penalties from their opponent, but isn't there a bit of a chicken and egg element as well. You get some calls against you and your PK'er work hard, therefore get more tired, therefore commit more penalties, etc. I am not saying the Caps did not commit the infractions called - I am saying they did not commit 5 less infractions than the Pens.

Hey TEB,

How about asking GM about sitting 10 million in 2 guys ?
Great judge of talent & character.........

GMGM is the man! LarryDavid? what are you CHEEF's brother? GMGM was not only an NHL "Bada$$" but he also won the Hobey BakerAward! Now as an NHL GM he, once allowed to build a team the way he wanted...well the playoffs 2 years in a row and stanley cup contender, that's pretty good.

Unwatchable. I couldn't stick with it till the end. Video is for showing something. Sharp outfit, Tarik. The curtain is kind of blah, though.

@LarryDavid: I'm curious how much of that $10 million is actually yours? Yeah, I know. At most, maybe a game ticket or two? A season pass worth? Unless you're looking at about a million of it being yours, I don't think you have any business asking for an explanation. Mr. McPhee has done a respectable job getting our team together. For you to place blame on him exclusively for the $10 million in salary for players who are sitting, indicates a level of stupidity and ignorance that is laughable. *points finger at LarryDavid and laughs*

LarryDavid has a good point. Thats 20% of our cap space down the drain. $10 million could get you Boumeister, Chara etc. Any objective person would have to questions some of GMGMs FA decisions over the years ...Mironov? Pothier? Thats even more wasted cash...
