CommuteCast: Partly Cloudy, A Shower or Two
Partly sunny Thursday, continued cool
Partly cloudy skies of this morning have given way to some isolated showers across the area. These showers will remain widely scattered and will produce only trace amounts of rain in most places and some gusty winds. High temperatures have reached the mid 60s to near 70 this afternoon with an occasionally gusty wind from the west.
Tonight: We begin the night partly to mostly cloudy with the continued chance of an isolated shower this evening prior to sunset. Overnight, skies will begin to clear, and by morning the region will be partly sunny. Temperatures will once again be cooler than average with lows falling to the mid 40s in the suburbs to right around 50 in the city.
Tomorrow: For Thursday, expect skies to be partly to sometimes mostly sunny with breezy conditions and temperatures again below normal. Highs will top out in the upper 60s to right around 70 in most locations as a west wind blows at 15-25 mph.

Looked nice on radar, skies grew dark.......not even a .01 out this way, enough to wet the ground, so I'll call it a trace.

Very strong winds with this cell at Lorton. Rain has just begun, not sure how wet this one will be, but the trees are bending.

i was just slleping but then a really loud noise that sounded like a jet palne, but was way louder and lasted for like 3 min.anyone have any idea what it could be?

SAM, something that sounded like a jet plane but way louder seems to me like maybe a C-5. They're kind of like ordinary jet planes except MUCH bigger and louder. We've got 10 of 'em at the Martinsburg Air National Guard base.

Looks as though something interesting could be heading our way from the Martinsburg area.
