Update: Early P.M. Showers, Big Storms Later

By Capital Weather Gang

Showers and storms that developed over West Virginia this morning are now affecting western Virginia. This activity should move into the western suburbs during the lunch hour and through the District and eastern suburbs during the early afternoon. These showers/storms are not severe at the moment, but briefly heavy rain and gusty winds are possible. Several bouts of storms are possible today, with the greatest severe threat late this afternoon into the early evening hours.

See Jason's full forecast for the outlook through the week.
