CommuteCast: Clear Skies, High Temperatures

By Ian Livingston

Plentiful sunshine today has led to temperatures rising into the low and mid 90s across the area. A gusty northwest wind is transporting in drier air this afternoon, so high humidity of this morning is being swept out for now. Expect a pleasant but warm remainder of the afternoon and evening.

Tonight: We'll see increased cloudiness overnight as a small upper level disturbance swings by. It is possible this disturbance could kick off a shower or two, but they will be extremely isolated if they occur. Lows should drop to the mid 60s in the suburbs and right around 70 in the District.

Tomorrow: Thursday starts partly to mostly cloudy before some clearing occurs during the midday. Temperatures and humidity levels will both be down a notch or two from today, and highs should reach the mid and upper 80s. Some leftover instability may allow for an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm in some places.

See Dan's full forecast through the weekend.

Walking around today at lunch was nice, with the breeze and the lowering humidity. It was almost like being on vacation.

Ian/CWG -- The timestamp for my last post was one hour ahead. It is actually 3:30 pm right now.

"Bombocast" was unable to be posted yesterday due to a Comcast Internet outage and today due to Washington Post "maintenance".

Yesterday the outflow from the Chicago MCS knocked out predicted "severe weather" here due to cloudiness, and allowed me to get to my swing dance with no interference from weather issues.

Downside of the current forecasts is that previously predicted dry weather is being interrupted by a continual slight chance of afternoon/evening thundershowers the rest of this week.

Currently 90F, 29.91, falling, dewpoints near 67F. Cu congestus and some Cb, 50% of sky covered. Large thunderstorm to SE over S. MD.

Nice evening outside. Could the Nice Day Stamp come out to play this weekend? Seems quite possible to me.
