Forecast of Champions!
Gold medal weather continues
Yesterday's high temperature of 81 is considered normal for September 9th, not August 11th. When you have September weather in the middle of what should be the dog days of August, then you definitely have gold medal weather. Will this winner weather continue? For the most part, yes. Temperatures are forecast to inch up mainly into the middle/upper 80s the next few days. Some very slight humidity increases and some late week thunderstorms are also on the horizon.
Going for the gold again with low humidity and low to middle 80s. After a cool morning low (50s in the 'burbs!), we should look for temperatures to moderate toward the lower and middle 80s today. Humidity levels will stay on the dry side, clouds will be scattered, and the breezes from the northwest should continue to feel great (although not as strong as yesterday).
Another comfortable night is expected with lows dropping into the 60s and maybe upper 50s yet in the outer suburbs. Only a few scattered clouds are expected so you should be able to catch a few of those Perseid meteor showers tonight into early Wednesday morning.
Keep reading for the forecast through the weekend. See NatCast for the outlook for tonight's game.
TOMORROW (WEDNESDAY)
Slightly more humid, but still nice overall. Mid-upper 80s. Some increase in afternoon cloud cover is expected, but overall, this is still high performing August weather with highs only in the 80s and only a slight increase in humidity. We'll need to include about a 20% chance of widely scattered afternoon to evening thunderstorm activity.
Lows should again dip back into those 60s (upper in the city and lower in the suburbs) with some scattered clouds about.
Thursday will increase the chance of storms (up to 30%), but temperatures are not expected to get out of control with still middle to upper 80s. More clouds should also be expected, especially from midday onward. Confidence: Medium-High
Friday is expected to have the highest humidity of the week, but with temperatures only in the 80s again and dew points only pushing higher into the 60s, this is still not as tough as August can sometimes get (puppy rather than dog days of summer!). Look for a healthy 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms though. Confidence: Medium
The weekend keeps the 80s themes going strong with mainly middle to upper 80s and a running 30% chance of thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening (and on Saturday). Low temperatures are anticipated to still reach into the 60s each night, but we should not be surprised if the city only settles down to 70 due to somewhat higher humidity levels. All in all though, any opportunity to stay away from 90-degree temperatures in August is a winning formula. Confidence: Low-Medium

This isn't gold medal weather for those of with brown lawns and dying gardens! Bring us some rain!

Sorry about that. The odds for rain appear to be improving on Thu and Fri for the area.

Finally able to get back in... but my Comcast "high-speed" Internet has been so SLOOOOW of late!!! Hence no "Bombocast".
Current: 82F, 29.91 steady. Cu humilis of fair weather after clear morning. Weather more like September than August!
DanceCast is fine for this evening. Friday is still in question somewhat. We actually could use some rain--as long as it's not on dance night!
