SkinsCast: Comfy Welcome for New Coach

By Dan Stillman
Redskins vs. Bills (Preseason)
Saturday, 7 p.m., FedEx Field

Coach Jim Zorn will make his FedEx debut in unusually comfortable conditions for August -- very low humidity and evening temperatures dropping through the 70s. The chance of a shower is slim to none. After the game, if your final destination is in the suburbs, prepare for mid-to-upper 60s by the time you get there.

SkinsCast appears before every Redskins home game. Also, see our full forecast into early next week, and our Virgin Mobile Festival forecast.

Ahh, someone is treading on OUR name! How dare they.

Murf, never fear, we have been skins-casting the internet for the past 4 years (and have the archives to show it ;)

"Do not break arm patting self on back."

Jamie,
If you took a few moments to check your own archives, I think you would find a post by Dan on 8/20/06 titled "Skinscast to Make CapitalWeather.com Debut". Not exactly 4 years by the calendar here at Climate Capitalist Central.

Skinscast has been around for 4+ years, Capitalweather was around long before it's affiliation with WaPo, I'm sure those are the archives Jamie is referencing.....

I can set the record straight here-- We've been providing Redskins forecasts since the fall of 2004, when we were CapitalWeather.com. We started calling these forecasts "Skinscast" in 2006.

And the skinscast.com archives only show it going back until 2006 as well.

Looks like the football site is not the only name conflict.

One nice thing about the Post, though: they have a team of lawyers. :)

Are you still going to have NATSCAST? Baseball season is still in play too? What happens on days of Skins and NATS play on the same day?

Posted by: CALSGR8 | August 9, 2008 5:15 PM | Report abuse

Don't worry CALSGR8, we're good at multi-tasking. NatCast will continue through the end of the baseball season. We'll have NatCast and SkinsCast on days when both are playing at home.
