Update: Storms Moving Away; Skies Clearing

By Dan Stillman

9:15 p.m. update: The Severe Thunderstorm Watch has now been cancelled for the immediate metro area, and now only continues for Calvert, Charles and St. Marys counties and points south and east.

8:20 p.m. update: The Severe Thunderstorm Watch has expired for areas north of D.C., but has been extended until 10 p.m. for D.C., Arlington, Fairfax, Anne Arundel, Prince George's and points south and east. However, even for these areas, the storm threat is quickly diminishing, and clearing skies will likely prevail as the evening continues.
