Visit the "Wings of Fancy" Live Butterfly Exhibit at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton.
Watch the seals and sea lions getting fed and learning new tricks at the National Zoo on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
Go to the National Arboretum's "Power Plants" exhibit -- a garden featuring many different plants that offer alternative energy possibilities.

Check out the Cambodian Community Day Festival in Alexandria this Sunday.
Learn about invasive and native plants at the U.S. Botanic Garden, or check out the Cool Globes.
Watch the U.S. Marine Corps' Marine Barracks Friday evening parade, listen to the U.S. Army Band's Sunsets with a Soundtrack on the steps of the U.S. Capitol, or check out a summer concert by the U.S. Air Force Band at the new Air Force Memorial in Arlington.
Bring a picnic to go and head to one of these convenient picnic locations. Or, if you feel like eating a more formal meal, dine outdoors at one of the many D.C. restaurants with outdoor seating.
