Forecast: Spooky How Pleasant It'll Be

By Camden Walker

WeatherCamNo spooky storms or showers to dampen tonight's trick or treating. In fact, the weather will be eerily quiet through the weekend. Enjoy the partly to mostly sunny skies and mild high temperatures -- in the 50s and 60s.

TODAY (HALLOWEEN)

Sunny. Mid 60s. A bright day calls for an equally bright and bold costume. Enjoy your work holiday party. But be sure to get out for lunchtime at least. Mild highs and a light breeze from the southwest will make it feel very pleasant under pristine blue skies.

Evening temperatures dropping through the 50s, and mostly clear skies, will be a treat for those roaming about for candy. Overnight, after the witching hour, lows drop to the mid 40s downtown. Upper 30s to near 40 in the suburbs.

Confidence: High

TOMORROW (SATURDAY)

Partly to mostly sunny. Mid-to-upper 60s. It'll be another pleasant autumn day. Get out to the Mall and see a Smithsonian exhibit -- or something to take your mind off the election! With light winds from the northwest, it'll be a wonderfully warm day for the beginning of November.

Skies turn partly to mostly cloudy overnight, keeping lows from dropping much below 40 in the suburbs, even out toward the Blue Ridge. Downtown where it will be slightly warmer, temperatures may hover in the mid 40s. Skies begin clearing by dawn, I believe.

SUNDAY

Partly sunny. Mid 50s. All in all we're looking at another nice fall day. Albeit cooler. But how can we complain when not even a drop of rain disturbs our streak of fine weather? Just dress warmly if you venture out early or late in the day. I don't know about you, but I'm still not used to highs only in the 50s.

Overnight, a partly cloudy finish to the weekend. Lows in the upper 30s (suburbs) to mid 40s (downtown).

A LOOK AHEAD

Monday boasts partly to mostly sunny skies, with a tad more warmth. High temperatures around 60. A nice start to the week Confidence: Medium-High

On Tuesday, it may even be a little warmer. Mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 60s? I'll take it!! Confidence: Medium
