Update: Band of Heavy Showers, Some Thunder

By Capital Weather Gang

* Full Forecast | Weather Wall | Weather Checker *

Assuming it holds together, a narrow line of heavy showers with some lightning and thunder mixed in will move from west to east through the immediate metro area over the next hour or two. Storms could contain small hail and wind gusts to around 40 mph according to the National Weather Service.

The quickly moving activity has been rather intense for folks in Loudoun and Frederick counties. But radar indicates the line is weakening, especially on its southern end, as it moves to the east.
