In case you missed this video yesterday on the Federal Eye blog (and the mention about it in our PM Update), here's a great inside look at the National Weather Service (NWS) from Washington Post reporter Ed O'Keefe...

In a separate post related to the NWS, O'Keefe summarizes the latest in an ongoing dispute between the NWS and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). At present, NWS meteorologists staff 21 FAA air route traffic control centers across the country. One FAA proposal recommends consolidating these operations to two forecast centers to cut costs. The NWS employees union strongly opposes such a move.
