PM Update: Quite a Warm Weekend on Tap

By Ian Livingston

May-like temperatures for Saturday and Sunday

* Warm Weekend to Save Daylight | Bob Ryan on Climate Change *

Despite plenty of cloudiness through much of the day, afternoon sunshine has helped high temperatures reach the mid-and-upper 60s, as a south wind continues blowing mild air into the region. If you have not been out this afternoon, try to take a few minutes and enjoy. Luckily for office dwellers, the weekend will deliver much more in the way of warmth to savor!

Tonight: After a mainly clear start to the evening, we trend back to mostly cloudy skies overnight. Lows will range from 45-50 in most spots. Pretty warm compared to early in the week. If it wasn't for a continued southerly breeze, we may need to worry about some fog as humidity levels rise a bit on south winds.

Tomorrow (Saturday): Morning clouds should give way to increased sun during the day. Afternoon readings should top out in the low-to-mid 70s making it about as delightful as it can be if you're a fan of springtime weather. Now we just need the trees to turn green and flowers to blossom.

Ahhhhh.....got a nice run in this afternoon, turned off the heat for the weekend, anc cracked open a beverage.

This is more like it!

Possible first weekend with both days above 70 in DC since Oct 11 & 12, 2008.

Wooo! Yeah, bring on the spring!
I went to grab the mail after just taking a shower, and was surprised to find that I didn't have to make a mad dash back inside.

Current temp. in Burke: 55.2 with clear skies!

I just finished watching my sister's soccer game. It was really nice out there. The breeze felt fantastic! (although it did get a bit chilly after a while)

ThinkSpring:

Has it really been that long since it's been above 70 on the weekend? WOW!!

Only problem is that it's a shortened weekend due to that much-too-early 'spring forward'. I'm sure not going to like Christmas-like darkness at 6:30 AM. Early morning is where it really nicks you psychologically. It's just like a "mandated" case of jet lag; the later we make the change, the better. It would make more sense if the 'spring ahead' came when we are being awakened by daylight at 5 AM later in the spring.

Well, I guess I am one of the few posters who does not mind Spring taking its dear time to roll in, because as we all know, the brutal, knock you down and stomp on your chest VA summer comes next.

I too am ready for the warmer weather of spring. I am looking forward to the weekend....

Ah yes, the weekend...
The next 7 days will be the tale of two weekends. The high temps between this Saturday and next Saturday may may equal the difference between last Monday and today. Spring is right around the corner and this weekend is a teaser but don't get used to it. Look forward to the changing month of March. The roller coaster ride continues...
