After what seemed like endless rain prior to this weekend, we were treated with a delightfully sunny Sunday. Photography is a good excuse to get outdoors and also an escape. This was the first Mother's Day since my mom passed away in January; I was eager to get out into the sun and clear my mind. She was always one of my biggest advocates (and lenders!) as I began to get interested in photography a few years back. She was artistic herself, so it seemed fitting to spend the day immersed in the beauty of life.
I tend to do most of my photo-taking on my own, but every now and then it's fun to have someone join for the adventure. Though I may have chosen a different time of day, photographers need to work with what they get (see #5) and I was happy with what I came away with. And in the end, spending quality time with family is as good or better than taking the "easier to please" photo during the morning and evening magic hours.
