FORECAST IN DETAIL
Brace for a wet, slow drive to work this morning. And don't try to drive through any areas of high water. Rain will be moderate at times into the midday hours. Hopefully by the evening commute we'll just have periodic showers to contend with. After this abysmal end to our workweek, we'll have a mostly splendid Saturday and Sunday. But the threat of thunderstorms returns early next week.
Today (Friday): Really wet. A storm system riding up the East Coast will soak us with rain, moderate at times, through much of the day before tapering in the mid-to-late afternoon. Along with an umbrella, consider wearing that long rain coat or even a poncho. Overcast skies and light breezes from the northeast (off the Bay and Atlantic) will keep temperatures hovering in the low 60s all day long. Just a grey, super damp day... ugh.
Anothe half-inch to inch of rain is likely during the daylight hours today, on top of totals from yesterday and overnight. Confidence: Medium-High
Tonight: Any lingering showers should wind down early in the evening. Light winds from the northwest will then start to pull in dryer air. Temperatures drop several degrees overnight to lows in the mid-50s. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow (Saturday): Any lingering morning clouds should quickly give way to partly sunny skies, maybe mostly sunny at times. And nice temperatures in the upper 70s to near 80. Winds will be light and humidity levels will be comfortable for us too. Confidence: Medium-High
Tomorrow Night: Partly cloudy with light winds. Low-to-mid 60s for lows downtown and upper 50s to low 60s in the suburbs. With humidity still in check, this could be a nice night to be out camping! If you head to the Blue Ridge, temperatures will likely "camp" a little lower -- in the mid-to-upper 50s. Confidence: Medium-High
Sunday: Partly to mostly sunny. And warmer with highs in the mid-80s. Winds remain light with just a touch of humidity. Get out and enjoy! But make sure to enjoy with sunscreen. And note that an isolated shower or thunderstorm could pop up late in the day. Confidence: Medium
Other than an isolated early-evening shower or storm, serene conditions prevail Sunday night. Expect partly cloudy skies and increasing humidity with lows in the mid-60s to near 70. Confidence: Medium
Monday and Tuesday shape up as a pair of partly sunny and humid days with a chance of thunderstorms. Temperatures should be warm with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s. Confidence: Low-Medium
