'Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs' Opens Today

Imagine if any food you wished for came falling from the sky minutes later.
That's the basis for Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, an animated film that opens today. The film is based on the beloved children's book that has sparked the imaginations of future meteorologists (and food scientists) for over 30 years.
Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation claims it will be "the most delicious event since macaroni met cheese." See trailer below...

I wonder what meteorological conditions were responsible for a "hailstorm" like that.
Perhaps a tornado hit "Hell's Kitchen", picked up all the meatballs & pasta and dumped them over the countryside. Tornadoes have been held responsible for unusual "rainfalls" of fish and frogs in the Northwoods and other like areas.
