FORECAST IN DETAIL
We're going to be treated to an absolutely fantastic weekend weather-wise. Perhaps it's payback for all of the cloudy days we've had over the last two weeks. Both days will have considerable sunshine (today a little more than tomorrow) with highs in the very pleasant mid-70s. More clouds and possible dampness return to start next week but at least they have the courtesy to wait until then...
Today (Saturday): Full sunshine will beam down on us thanks to high pressure to our north. That will raise high temperatures up into the mid-70s despite a refreshingly cool breeze from the northeast around 10 mph. Confidence: High
Tonight: Clear and quite cool overnight. The outlying north and west suburbs may dip as low as the upper 40s with mid-to-high 50s downtown. Confidence: Medium-High
Keep reading for the forecast for tomorrow and into early next week...
Tomorrow (Sunday): We're looking at another very pleasant day. Sure, some high clouds could increase during the afternoon but we'll still see plenty of sunshine as high temperature again close in on the mid-70s. Winds will be from the east at around 5-10 mph. Confidence: Medium-High
Tomorrow Night: Clouds will increase as more moisture gradually streams in from the southeast. Lows will range from the upper 50s to low 60s (suburbs to city). Confidence: Medium-High
Moist flow from the southeast will settle in to start the upcoming work week Monday and Tuesday. Both days will likely have mostly cloudy skies with a 30% chance of showers. Highs should be in the mid-to-upper 70s, with overnight lows 60-65. Confidence: Medium

No complaints, but west of town in the mountains we've had periods of sun and clouds.

The wind was an issue at Chesapeake Beach today. The dog still enjoyed it.

Yes, it was nice today with the sun (in the low 70's), but, too often, with the sun, this time of year, especially with a southerly wind, it still gets too warm for my tastes, as the 87 we had the other day proved.
What was interesting was the low amount of cloudineess today with the NE wind off the ocean. That indicated that the high was very strong, that there was a lot of subsidence/downward motion, and that the subsidence was overcoming the usual tendency for a NE flow to be damp and cloudy.
