FORECAST IN DETAIL
Not much to complain about this weekend, and the fine weather will stay with us for a bit before more typical fall weather arrives. Sunny and 70s isn't something I get to say much in the month of November, but for today and tomorrow it will fit the bill perfectly. Look to the tropics come Tuesday night and into Wednesday as the path of the leftover moisture from Ida will have a large impact on how long we stay dry.
Today (Sunday): If you thought yesterday was nice, today will do you one better. I'll take this kind of weather in November any time Mother Nature throws it our way. Sunny skies remain overhead and temperatures climb around 10 degrees warmer than yesterday. Afternoon highs will likely reach 70 in some locales, and the upper 60s everywhere else. Winds from the northwest at 5-10 mph.Confidence: High
Tonight: Mostly clear skies are in the forecast as high pressure has plans to stay awhile. Overnight lows dip to near 40 in the cooler suburbs with low-to-mid-40s for most of rest of the the area. Winds become from the southeast around 5 mph.Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Monday):Tomorrow sports almost a mirror-image of today's fine weather. There may be a few extra clouds around if the easterly flow holds, but you're not likely to notice as the day should stay mostly sunny. Temperatures continue on the warm side as well with afternoon highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Confidence: High
Tomorrow Night: We'll see another beautiful fall night with just a few clouds overhead. It may be a good time for a nice stroll through the leaves as temperatures won't drop quite as fast and lows will be a bit warmer than as of late, in the mid-40s in the cool spots to the low 50s downtown. Winds should be southerly and light. Confidence: Medium-High
On Tuesday the last vestiges of high pressure desperately try to hang on ahead of an approaching cold front. Look for increasing cloudiness through the day and afternoon highs in the mid-60s. Confidence: Medium
Tuesday night, the forecast becomes a bit tricky, and depends largely on the path that Ida ultimately takes. If its moisture gets caught up in our front, we'll likely see rain beginning in the overnight hours. If Ida gets pulled more east than north, this front will likely lack enough moisture to give us much more than an isolated shower or two. Either way, expect mostly cloudy skies with lows around 50. Confidence: Low-Medium
Luckily, regardless of Ida, the front should be moving quickly enough to salvage most of our Veterans Day holiday. Any rains should end in the morning and skies should begin to clear for our afternoon. Temperatures will be cooler though, with highs only in the mid-to-upper 50s. Confidence: Medium

GFS continues to show a large storm sitting off the coast midweek bringing a fair amount of precipitation to the area. It still does not have the best support across the board but I'm starting to lean that way more myself. Would maybe mean some spots (high elevation) of decent mountain snow to the west too?

Whats playing out early this week into midweek will be interesting to watch. Thats why weather is so cool. Especially if viewing by the charts. Hopefully we'll get another extratropical system with this possible path again later in the winter. Patterns. Hold on to your hats hopefully were in for a harsh winter.
