FORECAST IN DETAIL

With the possible exception of today's partly sunny skies (and the slightest chance of a lone shower), the forecast through early next week looks pleasant, with abundant sun and little to no chance for precipitation. Temperatures today through Saturday may be a bit on the cool side -- and a few degrees below normal -- but warmer readings are likely by Sunday into early next week. All the while, though, we hold onto mostly sunny skies.

Today (Thursday): We'll see a blend of sun and clouds today (the latter more likely as the day wears on), with just the slightest chance of an isolated shower during the afternoon. Most of the area will stay entirely dry. Afternoon highs will top out in the mid-to-upper 50s. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: Count on partly cloudy skies tonight, with breezy winds from the northwest at 10-15 mph and overnight lows dropping to the mid-to-upper 30s. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Friday): Friday will be a quintessentially crisp fall day: lots of sunshine with temperatures on the cool side. Despite mostly sunny skies, highs will only make it into the low 50s, which will feel quite cool in the shade but reasonably mild in the sun. It will also continue to be breezy with northwesterly winds of 10-15 mph. Confidence: High

Tomorrow Night: Clear skies and light winds combine to create chilly conditions Friday night, with lows dropping to near 30 across the coolest suburbs to the mid-to-upper 30s downtown. Confidence: Medium-High

A LOOK AHEAD

The forecast for Saturday is for lots of sunshine and close-to-normal high temperatures near 60. Rain chances? As close to 'zero' as we get. Overnight temperatures will be a bit milder -- in the 40-45 range. Confidence: Medium-High

Expect another day of full sunshine on Sunday, with warm afternoon highs soaring all the way into the upper 60s. A few places may even hit or surpass the 70-degree mark; pretty impressive for November. Clear skies are likely to stick around Sunday night, with milder overnight lows 'only' -- funny how things change with the seasons -- dropping to the mid-40s. Confidence: Medium-High

The forecast for Monday, as implausible as it may seem (given the cloudy & wet weather of late), is for continued mostly sunny skies and dry weather. Afternoon highs in the mid-60s will be near to a bit above normal, with overnight lows near 50. Confidence: Medium
