PM Update: Bundle-up weather is back
Cold air continues its hold for near future; Weekend storm?
Cold air and cold winds returned to the scene in a big way today. Even under full sunshine, temperatures have only been able to climb into the upper 30s and lower 40s -- at least 5 degrees below normal at most locations. Winds that have gusted up to and past 20 mph will subside a little this evening and continue to blow through the overnight and into tomorrow.
Through Tonight: We stick with mostly clear skies through the night. Winds die off a bit after sunset, but they won't disappear completely. This should help keep temperatures in the low-to-mid 20s most locations.
Tomorrow (Thursday): The forecast remains fairly simple for tomorrow as mostly clear skies and chilly temperatures continue. Winds from the northwest, lighter than today, will persist and weaken further as the day goes on. Highs will be mainly in the upper 30s to near 40. Some increase in clouds is possible by late afternoon or evening.
Climate caper: Yesterday, the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT) pulled off stunts against the Greenpeace vessels Rainbow Warrior and Arctic Sunrise. The ships are both in port for the Copenhagen climate summit. Folks from CFACT were able to board one ship and unfurl a banner reading "Ship of Lies" while a similar banner reading "Propaganda Warrior" was held up in front of the other ship from a small boat later in the day.
