Update: Chance of snow Tuesday night
Just as we've started to recover and dig out from Saturday's snow storm, a new snow threat has emerged (and it's not the one some folks have been speculating about for next weekend). Model guidance is now suggesting a weak area of low pressure developing off the Southeast coast may come close enough to the region late Tuesday to throw back some snow -- particularly from I-95 and to the south and east. The exact track of this storm is highly uncertain, so it's not clear whether or not it will have much of an impact. We'll have additional information on this snow potential tomorrow.
As for Monday's weather and through the week, see our full forecast.

Channel 9 had a new map showing projected accumulations on their late news tonight. Some of the locations highlighted included Warrenton with 4.5", Quantico with 0.6" and DCA with 2.7". Of course, we have no idea how accurate those numbers will be, but I hadn't seen our TV mets using a graphic like that before.

My wishcast is for 5-6" of snow Tuesday night and squeals of joy from my sled-riding daughter Wednesday morning.

Not only may there be a storm Tuesday, but this weekend is looking interesting for wintry weather.

If so, one for Tuesday, and one for Friday/Saturday?

Are we looking at before rush hour, after rush hour, etc.? Thanks for the heads up. Will keep this in mind as we may have a make up youth choir practice scheduled for my daughter on Tuesday now...
