Although temperatures in the low-to- mid 60s are a bit below average this afternoon, it has turned into a rather beautiful day with lots of sun and light winds. In fact, the sun is becoming so strong these days it's somewhat hard to tell the actual temperature when it's beating down. Either way, today was the coolest of the rest of the work week. So, tomorrow you can probably leave the jacket at home if you can manage the cool morning.
Through Tonight: Mostly clear skies, light winds and dry air help temperatures drop fairly well. Readings falling into or through the 50s around sunset will drop to lows ranging from near 40 in the cold spots to the mid-40s downtown.
Tomorrow (Thursday): After a cool morning start, we'll warm up nicely -- as much as 35 degrees in spots -- under mostly sunny skies and light west winds. Highs should reach the mid-70s most spots, with perhaps a few upper 70s intermixed.

Bob Ryan to WJLA? Rumors that Bob Ryan will return to local TV on WJLA (ABC 7) have returned. Today dcrtv.com is reporting that Ryan will join the station after his contractual "cooling off" period ends. It is expected that Ryan will fill the 11 p.m. timeslot while Doug Hill covers early-evening broadcasts.

Speaking of weather personalities on the move, Dr. Steve Lyons is leaving the Weather Channel to become the Meteorologist-in-Charge in San Angelo, TX. Dr. Rick Knabb will be his replacement.

Heard enough of my UV advisories? :-) well, the sun really is beating down out there--indeed. We had an hour of UV 10 (extreme) today. Be careful between 10am-4pm now, thru most of September!
