FORECAST IN DETAIL

We're on a bit of a hot streak with our third consecutive mostly nice weekend. The wind may be a bit strong today for everyone's taste but tomorrow it turns tranquil. Calm weather continues through Monday before the next cold front approaches and brings along some rain chances by Tuesday.

Today (Saturday): It's a chilly start to the day with pretty much everyone in the 40s. With high pressure building in from the west, there's sunshine galore taking temperatures up into the mid-60s by the mid-afternoon hours. However, if you're walking facing the breeze, it feels chillier than that due to sustained winds from the northwest at about 15-20 mph with gusts to 30 mph or so. Confidence: High

Tonight: The winds drop and temps take a tumble under clear skies. Lows range from near 40 in the cooler suburbs to the upper 40s downtown. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Sunday): This is a delightful mid-October day. After a crisp start in the 40s, temps ascend to around 70 under blue, sunny skies. Winds are generally light, from the west at 5-10 mph. Confidence: High

Tomorrow Night: Grab the fleece if headed out. It's another clear, chilly night with lows from 40-48 (suburbs-city). Confidence: Medium-High

A LOOK AHEAD

Mostly sunny skies on Monday push temps back up to near 70. However, some high clouds may enter the region during the afternoon and lower and thicken overnight when lows range from 46-52 (suburbs-city). By Tuesday, skies are cloudy and there's a small chance of light rain (30%) with highs 60-65. Confidence: Low-Medium

A bit windy out there, but a classic beautiful Fall day nonetheless.

OK, I'm the one always asking for wind, but this is too much for my little boat.

Definitely a beautiful day despite the winds.

I like seeing you all view today's glass as "half-full" for the most part... wind be darned! :)

@david: I totally agree
@Camden: I don't get why everyone here is so anti-wind. We're stuck with hot, sultry air for a third of the year; I'd much prefer the air movement. It's refreshing and makes for the perfect fall day. Definitely a 9 or 10 in my book.

AMAZING hiking day. I seem to recall in years past patterns of gorgeous weekdays and crappy weekends. We seem to be in an inverted pattern:)
