Ellen DeGeneres mocks TV weather reporting
* Rain ends when? Full Forecast | "Snowmageddon" a top word in 2010 *
Last Thursday, Ellen Degeneres' monolog featured a familiar topic: the TV weather report. Her commentary, which laments the dumbing down of weathercasts, is harsh but funny. For example, she complains: "The weather reports treats us like we're idiots all the time. There's a big smiley face on the sun. . . . It's like we're first graders..."
Veterans Day was not the first time DeGeneres poked fun at TV weather reporting. DeGeneres stepped in front of the green screen during a weather segment at Chicago's NBC affiliate this past summer. The Huffington Post reported "Ellen joined weather forecaster Brant Miller for the funniest forecast ever. Well, aside from all the rain."

Sadly, it's usually not the forecaster's choice, but the producer's choice in how the weather forecast is explained.
