Bill Clinton Helps House Dems (and Obama)

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is bringing Bill Clinton off the bench to help the party's House candidates and, by extension, potential future President Barack Obama.

Clinton has penned a fundraising missive for the DCCC, obtained by Capitol Briefing, that urges donors to pony up "your urgent contribution before our FEC reporting deadline August 31st -- we must show we have the resources to fight back." Against whom? "The hard-core Republican operatives who will come after our candidates. Republican attack groups -- even one led by people like Tom DeLay, and another advised by Karl Rove -- are prepared to spend nearly $250 million to defeat Democrats."

In his message, Clinton recalls his time dealing with a not-always-cooperative Congress. "Believe me, the best thing we could do to help Barack Obama when he is president is to elect more change-oriented Democrats to Congress on November 4th," he writes.

If a donor contributes to the DCCC's "Denver to November campaign," House Democrats will match the contribution from their own coffers 2-to-1. Through July 31, the DCCC had $56 million in the bank, while the National Republican Congressional Committee had $14 million. It is worth noting, though, that the NRCC outraised the DCCC in July, $9.2 million to $6 million.

Clinton, by the way, doesn't appear to have made any personal donations to House candidates this cycle, but he did give $2,300 to Obama back in June.

Wouldn't it be nice to live the life of John McCain? Not having to work a moment (except to divorce his first wife and marry a rich heiress) of his life to get his hands on a multi-million dollar fortune? And to live like this:

John McCain, by marrying the daughter of a rich business magnate, is worth up to $100 million! (And he's still taking in $56,000 in Navy pensions!) Fabulous!

The McCains have seven, that's right, at least seven different multi-million dollar properties, including luxury condos in California and Arizona! That's so many, that you can forgive them for sometimes forgetting how many houses the they own or even to pay their property taxes! Of course, being so rich means never having to lift a feather duster -- the McCain spend almost $300,000 on household staff.

And how do you jet around to these various luxury homes (and campaign events?) By private jet, of course! I mean, c'mon, as Cindy McCain says, it's the ONLY way to get around her state!

So how should a rich jet-setter like the McCains dress? Only in the finest European clothes. Escada suits at $3,000 a pop for her! Salvatore Ferragamo 'Pregiato' loafers at $520 a pop for him! Dressing like the richest European aristocrats!

How to ring up all these wonderful riches? When you've got $100 million and up in the bank, the credit card companies don't mind if you ring up a $100,000 credit card bill. They know you're good for it!

What a fabulous life for the McCains! No wonder John McCain thinks you need $5 million to be rich, and just thinks that concerns for the economy are just psychological! Times are tough for many Americans, but not John and Cindy!

In fact, I hear they're looking to move into another property in Washington, D.C. A perfect place to make sure their ultra rich life is improved by nice tax breaks for the ultra rich!

John McCain earned his military pension by his years of military service to his country. Why shouldn't he keep it?

He keeps his social security monthly check (in the thousands) too. If he cares so much about fixing social security, why doesn't he suggest that people making over $5M be eliminated from the social security payroll?

why doesnt anyone talk about the Keating 5 scandal & john mccain. also why doesnt anyone talk about the details of mccains affair with his current wife after his first wife had a very serious accident which disfigured her, & then he divorced her to marry the multimillionaire heiress, everyone just skims the issue & forgets the details. other than being a pow (which I honor him for), he is a real lowlife, & not very bright. also check his school records & his military service. Not such a great person.
