2010 Virginia Baseball Schedule

Virginia released its 2010 baseball schedule, and the Cavaliers will defend their College World Series with a non-conference schedule that opens at East Carolina from Feb. 19-21. The home opener is Feb. 24 against George Washington.

The 56-game schedule includes 11 opponents who reached the 2009 NCAA tournament, including seven games against teams from a Regional in the first three weeekends.

"This does not include Rhode Island, who has a very good ballclub and was an NCAA bubble team last year," Coach Brian O'Connor said in a statement. "During the middle of the week throughout the schedule, we play the top in-state and regional teams. As always, we have 30 ACC games which will make for a lot of exciting games for our fans. We need fan support in all 35 of our home games to make 2010 a successful season."

It's nice to see something about a good team around here. Maybe next we can get some lacrosse news.
