Morning Links

One more day until kickoff. Here are some stories to put you in the mood...

The re-sodding process at Scott Stadium and (FedEx Field) has been weeks in the making. Anthony Poindexter will not enjoy Saturday until the game is finished.

Jerry Ratcliffe thinks the North Carolina game was a turning point for the Cavaliers. Virginia is still searching for offense, although quarterback Jameel Sewell is more confident. The Cavaliers have received life from two freshmen from Oscar Smith High: Perry Jones and Tim Smith.

Chase Minnifield has emerged as a contributor on defense and special teams. Check out some analysis from Doug Doughty, who looks at Craig Littlepage's track record with coaches.

On the other side, a win against Virginia would be critical if the Hoosiers want to reach a bowl. One Indiana linebacker enters the game with much responsibility. Two brothers play key roles for Hoosiers. At the end of this preview, the Indiana Daily Student thinks the Hoosiers win, 31-14.

Something that matters for both schools: Basketball begins next week, and TheSabre.com continues assistant coach profiles with Ron Sanchez (subscription required). Coincidentally, he has Indiana connections.

Finally, a daily look around Virginia athletics...
