Morning links

All Virginia football has left to play for at this point is its own pride now that a bowl game is not attainable. Freshman Perry Jones played a bigger role in Saturday's game. The Cavaliers have worked for a performance such as Saturday's despite the loss, which might say something about the current state of the program.

On the other side, Clemson Coach Dabo Swinney didn't pay much attention to Virginia-BC game; he just wanted to win. The Tigers are learning to win the games they need to win. They can clinch the Atlantic division at home against Virginia.

Onto basketball, where Virginia is hoping for a complete game. The Cavaliers must contend with Gus Gilchrist, who is gaining confidence.

Finally, Sunday was a successful day in Virginia athletics, as Jeff White points out. The men's soccer team won the ACC championship. The women's soccer team scored six unanswered goals to advance to the round of 16 in the NCAA tournament. The field hockey team advanced tot he NCAA semifinals. The women's basketball team won, as did the wrestling team. Men's cross country will compete the NCAA championships and the rowing team even swept its varsity races.
