Beamer on London
Virginia Tech beat writer Mark Viera sent me over the following quote from Hokies Coach Frank Beamer about Mike London. Keep in mind, London's going to make in-state recruiting a priority -- a task that could only be accomplished if he can convince players to come to Charlottesville over Blacksburg.
"I've known Mike for a long time. They've got a solid guy, a guy
that's certainly well thought of in the state of Virginia, a guy that
knows a lot about the state of Virginia. In my opinion, they made an
excellent hire. We've got to continue to compete and do what we do. I
know they'll do a great job. That rivalry is, in my option -- Georg
Welsh and Al Groh -- it's always had respect. It's always been good
for the state of Virginia. It's always been two programs that's done
it the right way. And that's certainly going to continue under Mike
London. He did a nice job at Richmond, won a national championship,
and that's going to continue for sure."
