Men's Basketball: K.T. Harrell update
ACC play has not even started for the Cavaliers, so there's still too much of this season remaining to think about next season. But this morning's link about Joe Harris's 37-point game prompted me to check up on some of Virginia's other recruits.
One of the two gems of the class -- guard K.T. Harrell from Brewbaker Tech in Montgomery, Ala. -- is producing numbers that should excite Virginia fans.
Harrell's father, Rodney Harrell, said that K.T. is averaging 30.7 points per game, 12.1 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 2.9 steals and 1.6 blocks. He's shooting 62 percent from the field, including 68 percent from inside the three-point line and 42 percent from beyond the three-point line.
Rodney looked up Kobe Bryant's numbers from Bryant's senior year at high school, and the statistics are fairly similar. (K.T.'s friends sometimes call him "Kobe", by the way.)
Harrell's high school coach has heard from McDonald's all-American game officials, although those projections remain premature.
