Craig Littlepage's statement
Before Saturday's game against Wake Forest, Athletic Director Craig Littlepage made a rare pre-game public announcement. The weather made it difficult for many to attend the game, and Littlepage expressed appreciation for everyone at the game and everyone who made the game possible. Here's what Littlepage said:
"First of all, let's give it up for all the people who've been plowing the roads, plowing the driveways. Most of all, I want to thank each and every one of you that has taken the time to get here. I appreciate the fact that most of you, many of you, walked here. Some of you drove here. The key thing is that you've gotten here safely.
"We want you to have a great experience today. We need you to be loud. But most of all, we need you to be attentive that when you get home, we still want you to be thinking in terms of safety. Walking in groups, taking time with your driving, we need for you to be safe.
"We need for you to be here for the next couple of weeks, because we're going to win the regular season of the ACC. Now that we're here, it is absolutely critical for each and every one of us, from tip-off to the final buzzer, to be loud, to be supportive, of these Cavaliers.
"We have a tough opponent here today, Wake Forest. But if these guys play as hard as they can, if you guys cheer and support the Cavaliers as well as you can, these guys will play hard for you. I guarantee it. Thank you for being here. Let's go 'Hoos!"
