Virginia's ACC tournament scenarios
For those who enjoyed Wednesday's game between Virginia and Boston College -- all three of you, raise your hands -- here's some good news: You'll most likely see that matchup again on Thursday in Greensboro, N.C., in the first round of the ACC tournament. Think that game will set attendance records?
Boston College is locked into the No. 8 seed. If Virginia beats Maryland or Duke beats North Carolina, the Cavaliers have the No. 9 seed. Don't expect the former to happen, but it's likely the Blue Devils beat the Tar Heels in Cameron Indoor Stadium. (Although you never know in a rivalry game...)
If North Carolina wins, though, Virginia could slip to as low as No. 11 depending on results from North Carolina State and Miami. But if Duke holds serve -- or even if the Cavaliers pull off a stunner in the season finale -- Virginia will play in the 8-9 game.
