Sammy Zeglinski recovering from hip surgery

Virginia guard Sammy Zeglinski underwent hip surgery last week, his father, John, said Monday. Zeglinski, who played through the injury last season, will be limited for about two and a half to three months.

"He's doing fine now," John Zeglinski said.

There had been discomfort in the hip as the product of wear and tear. John Zeglinski said a groin strain and sports hernia might have also contributed. Sammy Zeglinski averaged 8.9 points per game in 29 minutes, while hitting 37.7 percent of his three-pointers.

"It's something he decided, rather than something happening during the season to alleviate it now," John Zeglinski said.

Now we just have to hope that when he's healthy he doesn't transfer too!
