Peter Lalich dismissed from Oregon State football team
As Cavaliers Journal prepares for a busy few weeks in Virginia sports -- lacrosse championships this weekend, baseball regionals/super regionals/College World Series to follow -- news broke Friday about an old U-Va. name.
Former Cavaliers quarterback Peter Lalich was dismissed from Oregon State's football team, according to multiple reports from news outlets covering Oregon State football.
Lalich was charged on May 7 with boating DUI and would have been subject to suspension. Beavers Coach Mike Riley said "it would have been very difficult for him, with that suspension, to continue to compete at quarterback. ... so he will not be on our team this year, and will not be on scholarship," according to this report in The Oregonian.
