Dominique Wallace leaves Virginia football team
Redshirt freshman tailback Dominique Wallace has left the Virginia football program for "personal reasons", Coach Mike London announced in a press release Monday. The release stated that Wallace remains enrolled at the school.
Wallace played on special teams in Virginia's first two games of the season. He played in three games last season before suffering a foot injury and sitting out the remainder of the season. He rushed for 49 yards on 14 carries in 2009.
"I feelthis is what is best for me in regards to my academic interests," Wallace said in the release. "I do not plan on transferring to continue playing football at another school. My goal is to finish my undergraduate degree at UVa. I appreciate everything the coaching staff has done for me during my football career at Virginia."
