Dowling, McLeod start game on bench
Through three defensive series, neither senior cornerback Ras-I Dowling, nor junior strong safety Rodney McLeod has taken the field. Both players missed last week's season-opening win over 1-AA Richmond.
McLeod, who is dealing with a left knee injury, was not expected to play against the Trojans. And while Coach Mike London also described Dowling (hamstring) as a game-timie decision this week, he indicated Dowling was more likely to play.
Just before Virginia kicked off to start the game, Dowling and McLeod walked over to the Virginia bench and set their helmets down. They have not returned to retrieve them so far.
