London 'would not be surprised' to see Dowling, McLeod play Saturday
Virginia Coach Mike London said Thursday that senior cornerback Ras-I Dowling and junior strong safety Rodney McLeod may play Saturday against Virginia Military Institute. Dowling (hamstring) and McLeod (knee) have missed the Cavaliers' first two games this season due to injury.
"They both practiced yesterday, and I imagine they'll both practice today," London said. "I would not be surprised if you saw either one in the game. To the extent of how much, I don't know. But they're both out there practicing and doing everything everyone else is doing."
London said sophomore wide receiver Tim Smith -- who is dealing with an ankle injury that may cause him to miss the remainder of the season -- will receive a second opinion "in the next day or two." Smith will not play Saturday against the Keydets.
