North Carolina reserve defensive end cleared to play vs. Virginia
North Carolina announced Saturday that junior defensive end Linwan Euwell is cleared to make his season debut against Virginia after missing the first five games while the school and the NCAA investigated his amateur status.
The Tar Heels also announced Saturday that junior safety Brian Gupton will miss the remainder of the 2010 season and that senior cornerback Kendric Burney's availability for next weekend's matchup against Miami remains undetermined. Burney's six-game suspension for receiving improper benefits ends after today's game against Virginia, but the schools said an issue pertaining to Burney's eligibility remains unresolved.
