North Carolina tailback Ryan Houston cleared to play against Virginia

North Carolina announced Thursday night that senior tailback Ryan Houston has been cleared to play Saturday at Virginia. Houston sat out the Tar Heels' first five games of the season while the NCAA and the school investigated his amateur status. Houston was one of several North Carolina players caught up in an agent scandal that has drawn scrutiny to the program since the summer.

Houston was the team's leading rusher in 2009 when he ran for 713 yards and nine touchdowns.
