Virginia football injury report: Torchia to miss Georgia Tech game
Senior tight end Joe Torchia will sit out Virginia's game Saturday at Georgia Tech with a shoulder injury, according to an injury report the Cavaliers released Thursday night. Torchia ranks third on the team in receptions (nine) and receiving yards (113).
Torchia's backup, sophomore tight end Colter Phillips, also is listed on the injury report with a shoulder injury, though Phillips is categorized as "probable," which means in all likelihood he will play against the Yellow Jackets.
Here is the full injury report:
Out -- redshirt freshman wide receiver Bobby Smith (ankle), sophomore wide receiver Tim Smith (ankle) and senior tight end Joe Torchia (shoulder)
Questionable -- junior fullback Terence Fells-Danzer (ankle) and sophomore center Mike Price (illness)
Probable -- junior left tackle Landon Bradley (shoulder), junior wide receiver Kris Burd (ankle), junior linebacker Darnell Carter (leg), fifth-year senior tailback Raynard Horne (knee), sophomore strong safety Brian Oden (leg) and sophomore tight end Colter Phillips (shoulder)
