Chase Minnifield, Keith Payne named to all-ACC teams
Two members of the Virginia football team were honored with all-ACC selections Monday. Junior cornerback Chase Minnifield was named to the first team, while senior tailback Keith Payne was named to the second team.
Minnifield -- who ranked second in the ACC and sixth in the nation in interceptions (six) this season -- became the first Virginia defensive back to make the all-ACC first team since Anthony Poindexter in 1998.
The first tailback to garner first or second team all-ACC honors since Alvin Pearman in 2004, Payne led the conference in scoring this season (8.7 points per game) and tallied an ACC-high 16 touchdowns. He led Virginia with 749 rushing yards.
