Virginia men's basketball game against Maryland to be played as scheduled

By Steve Yanda

Despite inclement weather in the Charlottesville area Wednesday, Virginia's men's basketball game against Maryland -- set for Thursday at John Paul Jones Arena at 7 p.m. -- will be played as originally scheduled, the school's athletic department announced Wednesday night.

"We want our fans to know that we are planning to play Thursday's game," Virginia athletic director Craig Littlepage said in a released statement. "We also want fans to check current weather and road conditions before traveling to the game."
