All About Nicole
Here, in no particular order, is your all important Nicole Kidman update because, you know, there's a lot going on with her these days:
1. It's all happening too fast. Over the weekend we learned that "The Simpsons" will be coming to movie theaters in summer 2007. Now details are surfacing that producers are trying to line up Kidman for a role in the film (we've already learned that Minnie Driver and Albert Brooks will be involved). Kidman and former husband Tom Cruise apparently refused a guest spot on the show back in the day.
2. Speaking of Tom Cruise, Kidman is denying reports that her 11-year marriage to the Scientologist has been annulled in order to clear the way for a church wedding with new love Keith Urban. Rumors about recorded conversations between Kidman and Cruise continue to surface but, so far, not the tapes themselves.
3. Kidman's on-screen pairing with fellow Aussie Russell Crowe has been delayed yet again because of scheduling conflicts. The two now hope to start filming Baz Luhrmann's Outback saga in February 2007.
4. Kidman's production company, Blossom Films, recently announced plans for her to develop, and star in, a spy thriller described as a female version of "The Bourne Identity."
5. You'll next see Kidman in "Fur," about the life of photographer Diane Arbus, and "The Visiting," a horror thriller co-starring newly-minted James Bond Daniel Craig.

Just to clarify the "Kidman and former husband Tom Cruise apparently refused a guest spot on the show back in the day,":
- Tom had agreed to and was slated to perform as "Tom", Bart's heroic foster "Big Brother" in season 4 (iirc), but he pulled out at the last minute, much to the consternation of the producers. Phil Hartman filled in for him.
- Tom & Nicole were briefly approached to play the large "Hollywood celebrity couple" role in season 10's "When you dish upon a star" (produced for season 9), but never got a serious response, which happened with a few other couples. (Its just as likely that they were too busy, b/c both had busy enough film careers at the time and its exponentially harder to coordinate 2 stars' schedules). The roles went to Alec Baldwin & Kim Basinger.
- They are indeed courting Nicole, under the assumption that Tom was the real impediment to doing the show, based on incident #1, and that - hey - this is the film, so its "higher-class".
