Friday List: Rename Supernova

Okay, I swear this will be the last you hear from me about "Rock Star" until next season. Unless something really crazy happens on tour and, of course, when they rename the band. As we all know by now, the band made the baffling decision to take both Lukas and Dilana on tour (Dilana will front the House Band. I'm sure they're overjoyed) But, I'm not here to wring my hands about the bad decisions of others because, really, why should I stress about something out of my control? I won't go on about how Lukas looks like his outfits -- right down to the studded half-glove thingy -- were issued by a stylist who has punk'd him big time (and I mean this kind of punk'd). I won't waste precious space talking about his staggering, doubled over way of careening around the stage or his over-emoted wailing. All I...

Reality Check

We're at kind of a crossroads, reality show-wise, so I thought it might be a good idea to check in on a few and take your pulse about what's worth watching. We'll start with the few I'm currently somewhat up on: Lukas Rossi, one lucky son of a "Headspin"-inspiring mommy. (Getty Images) Rock Star: Supernova As I wrote last week, this is my favorite. That is, until it ended last night with the boneheaded "band" picking Lukas Rossi (aka Chaka) to front their re-branded two-month tour. Evs. In any case, it's all over now, but the show returns next summer for an all femme competition. (Note to self: Start singing lessons and piercings now.) Does this bow tie go with heels? (AP) Dancing With The Stars As is the case with many of these celeb-studded shows, "star" is a loose term used to describe anyone from a faded talkshow host...

Report: Britney Gives Birth

A preggo Britney introduces husband K-Fed at August's Teen Choice Awards. (AP) The National Enquirer (I know, I know) is reporting that Britney Spears gave birth around 2 a.m. this morning to a second son. The report is short on details and credibility, so if anyone spots any corroboration or updates, please add to the comments section. From the Enquirer: "Kevin took Britney to the hospital in the evening hours of Sept. 11 to prepare for the Cesarean birth," an insider said. Only her mother Lynn, and her sister Jamie Lynn were present at the birth. None of Kevin's family was there. ---------------- Celebritology field agent Alicia Castiglione contributed to this report....

Celebritology 101: The Art of Cheek!

Today we turn our attention to the satisfying pleasure afforded by a well-written headline. Particularly in the world of celebrity news, a headline can make a paper buyable, a link clickable and elevate the subject matter from the mundane to the sublime. The surreally sublime, that is. The New York tabloids have made a passable sport out of headline-writing, mainly relying on the power of the pun to sell a few more copies. Still, New York has nothing on the British, who win the world title for clever cheeky headline-writing. No contest. Some recent examples: 'Drunken Twit' Tarrant Thrown Out by His Wife for Canoodling Busty Liz is Simply the Chest Lo' Unsteady as She Goes! It's the vocabulary, you see. The British press has embraced the colloquial and freely use slang and the latest in pop culture references (see above's "Unsteady as She Goes") when composing. Also, gone is...

TomKat Make the Scene at Redskins Game

TomKat cruises FedEx field. (Reuters) Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes turned up for the Redskins' season opener tonight at FedEx Field. Savvy stars that they are, they've already adopted the Skins' fan uniform of designer suit and tie for him, black turtleneck for her and -- absolute de rigeur at a night game -- sunglasses for both. The Reliable Source has the scoop on the entire family's (including Isabella, Connor and Suri) visit to new backer Dan Snyder's Potomac home and their Sunday outing to Six Flags. Celebritology field agent Frank Thomason contributed to this report....

Comment Box: Suri Scoop, Rock Star Gossip

The real question is: how crappy do Cruise's adopted kids feel about all of this Suri hype? I assume that when the rest of the photos come out Conner [sic] and Bella will be fuzzy blurs in the background. -- KG comments on We're Soooo Suri KG, I can't speak for Isabella and Connor, but the Vanity Fair photo spread does feature them rather prominently in one of the photos -- they're smiling alongside dad, Suri and Katie. Here's the pic in two parts. [1] [2] P.S. A special thanks to all of you who wrote in with additional Suri conspiracy theories. From speculating on her parentage (L. Ron Hubbard, Jet Li, his sister's egg) to her disguise (wig and fake tan) to the real story behind her name ("Suri Cruise" = Tom's home town of "Syracuse"), it definitely made for some interesting reading. Remember in that Metallica documentary how...
