For those interested: Drew Barrymore showed up at Hank's Oyster Bar in Dupont Circle for dinner last night. For those of us unaware of her UN dealings it was a bit surprising to see a very petite woman who looked uncannily like Drew Barrymore enter the restaurant and then turn out to actually be Drew Barrymore.
Fortunately for her, no one made her life too difficult - somehow we all managed to show some decorum and leave her alone over her meal.

That Akon thing was huge in Trinidad...it was front-page news because the gal was a minister's daughter. She says she "didn't know" what she was doing.
"Wining" is the famous dance that "simulates sex". It is very common for groups of people to do it..or room- fuls of people.

Even though I'm saving my Lost-watching for when the DVD comes out (it's much less irritating when you can watch four in a row), and I don't give a hang about Paris Hilton, I would suggest... nay, plead... that we chat about either one of these things in place of ANYTHING about American Idol. Well, I don't know if wining is like the Brazilian love dance, but where I come from we call it "Lucky Pierre" if you're in the middle. We call it other things too, but not printable.
At a party at my husband's office, we were expected to get up in front of the crowd and do this thing, while the singer sang "Come Rub it on my Belly Like Guava Jelly." I think we disappointed the crowd, though.
