By Liz Kelly

This morning Lindsay Lohan was arrested on suspicion of DUI (among other charges), adding another chapter to a busy year for the actress. Below, a look at how she's spent the first seven months of 2007:

Jan. 17: Lohan checks into L.A.'s Wonderland Center rehab saying she wants to "take care of my personal health."

Feb. 20: Lohan leaves rehab after 30-day stay.

May: Lohan says she plans to start work on a third album in August.

May 11: "Georgia Rule," co-starring Jane Fonda and Felicity Huffman, released to lukewarm reviews.

May 26: Lohan arrested after crashing her Mercedes into a Beverly Hills sidewalk. She is charged with DUI; cocaine is found in the car.

May 28: As photos of an incoherent Lohan surface on Web sites, the starlet enters Promises rehab facility in Malibu.

July 2: Lindsay Lohan celebrates her 21st birthday in rehab.

July 13: Lohan leaves Promises rehab, heads to Las Vegas to attend a party for her assistant. She is spotted wearing an alcohol-monitoring anklet.

July 20: Lohan surrenders to police for Memorial Day crash and is officially charged with DUI.

July 21: Production of upcoming movie, "Poor Things," shut down amid concerns about the Lohan's stability.

July 24: Lohan charged with suspicion of driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, possession of a controlled substance and bringing contraband into a custody facility. Lohan returns to an undisclosed rehab facility.

July 27: Expected release of "I Know Who Killed Me," in which Lohan portrays a stripper.

pathetic. just pathetic. what a waste of an opportunity to make something of herself. it's so obvious that rehab made absolutely no impression or if it did, she lacks the inner strength to say "no" to herself or to the influences around her.

So much for the alcohol-monitoring jewelry. How are those things supposed to work? Weren't alarms going off somewhere?

I think it's about time for her to do some serious jail time. If that doesn't work, let the press just stop reporting on her--she's not worth the ink.

I know will sound crude, but I would like to talk to her for a couple of hours, alone of course, before she goes to play with those inelegant prison guards.

What I want to know is why LiLo was car chasing one of her assistant's mother? Makes me wonder if that mom did what LiLo's real mother should have done and told her to take control of herself and GROW-UP!

Lilo was my pick for the Lizzie's, I guess she didn't like coming 2nd to Brit so she is making sure the same thing doesn't happen next year.

Posted by: MLF | July 24, 2007 12:29 PM | Report abuse

Its a brand new charge. Just happens to come very close to her turning herself in for the previous one. Clearly she was having a good time since she blew a .12 and had coke in her pants.

"So much for the alcohol-monitoring jewelry. How are those things supposed to work? Weren't alarms going off somewhere?"

Copious amounts of cocaine interfered with the detection of metabolized alcohol in Lindsey's sweat. When technicians placed the anklet on Lindsey, alarms started going off immediately. Thinking it was a false alarm, they set the threshold much higher. Lindsey would have to suck dry the Jack Daniel distillery before the alarm went off again.

So, in short, the "alcohol-monitoring jewelry" was purely ornamental.

Posted by: ... | July 24, 2007 12:32 PM | Report abuse

I believe the "force" you refer to may be a clue-by-four...there may be a few volunteers to be wielder of said blunt object (just need to find someone that'll actually *stop* after they've made their point...).

In all seriousness though I do hope she turns it around.

Looking at Lindsay Lohan's mug shot and one no longer doubt the magic of Hollywood make up artists to make Lindsay Lohan presentable in movies. Hollywood can make any ugly girl the most beautiful girl in the world.

LiLo looks like one of those examples for "What Drugs Do To Your Face" ad. It's so sad that she relapsed, but I am not surprised. I just wonder how many times LiLo will get "lucky" by hitting trees or getting stopped by the police before she kills herself or someone else.

Is Lindsay Lohan competing with Paris Hilton for the highest arrests record?

She thinks this is one more notch under her belt to brag about her Street Cred.

Posted by: whos your daddy? | July 24, 2007 1:10 PM | Report abuse

The personal assistant she was chasing has just quit. Gee, you think she was sick of dealing with this train wreck and wanted out?

Posted by: ep | July 24, 2007 1:14 PM | Report abuse

Lindsay had a relapse which any one who trying to overcome an addiction knows may happen, but I'm surprised by how soon she relapsed. What type of treatment she received at Promises?
Did they tell her she must change her lifestyle not just give up drinking? She would have to change her environment, her behavior, friends, or were they simply hiding her until her lawyers could work a plea deal for the first DUI.

You can tell an addict anything you want and they could spend years in rehab, but no matter how bad it gets, no one changes unless they themselves want to. She has to want to fix her life and stop her addictions; clearly she doesn't (yet).

So this mug shot is how Lindsay Lohan looks in real life. All the celebrities look beautiful on TV but not so hot in real life.

Posted by: simple life | July 24, 2007 1:37 PM | Report abuse

This actually makes me sad for Lindsay. This is clearly a girl who is struggling very hard with inner demons. Unfortunately, she doesn't have the parental oversight she so desperately needs right now. I know she's an adult who can make her own decisions, but wouldn't it be nice to have a mother or father to turn to when the going gets rough? Not to turn to for the next party or the next weird comic strip article?

She has absolutely no one on her side. I can only imagine how that feels. I think the difference between Lindsay and Paris in this situation is that Lindsay truly has a problem. Paris is just a spoiled brat who thought she was above the law. Luckily, Paris has loving parents who care about her.

I pray that Lindsay gets the help and love she desperately needs.

Posted by: Anonymous | July 24, 2007 1:39 PM | Report abuse

She looks JUST like her MOTHER in the mugshot. And that is hardly flattering for a 21 year old girl.

I miss "The Parent Trap" era Lindsay - she had so much potential to be...real.

What a perfect title for a Lilo movie. And in a few more years, on the day when she tragically departs this world and enters the next, maybe she will finally have a moment of clarity and realize who was ultimately responsible for her death.

Posted by: MisterBear | July 24, 2007 2:24 PM | Report abuse

i agree completely, lisa1, relapses happen...overcoming addition is very difficult and i wondered, when LL was photographed partying in vegas, just what she *learned* from her time at promises? sobriety takes a radical shift in lifestyle, which wasn't apparent from her weekend in vegas.
i'm not blaming promises...i'm sure they've got credentials coming out the wazoo, but someone has to be willing to say, 'if you *really* want to be sober, you can't live the way you used to live.'

Posted by: methinks | July 24, 2007 2:32 PM | Report abuse

From the Promises Extended Care/Sober Living option which methinks Lindsay should have considered...
"From our Pacific House, a beautiful 3,000 square foot beachfront estate, Promises offers a sober living environment for individuals who cannot or should not return to their former residence. Separate from our residential treatment facilities, Promises' sober living provides a comfortable environment to cultivate a balanced, sober lifestyle through structure and mutual accountability."

By the way, according to their website, they've been in business 20 years.

Jail house sounds better than rehab to me. Also if anyone needs rehab it's Hollywood, they should learn to ban people like Lindsay from the acting world. How unfortunate that we raise them to such heights. One too many times, she needs to be stopped before she hurts herself or someone else. She needs to do what's right.

While I disagree that jail is of any value in rehabilitating someone, it's clear that these high-priced "celebrity rehab" outfits are not doing their job.

Of course that assumes their job is actually rehabilitating someone and not merely appearing to do so in order to get them out of the public - and law enforcement - eye.

It's the same with Britney. You go to rehab in a resort in the Caribbean? I think not.

The notion that a week or a month or six weeks in "rehab" is going to change your life is brain dead to begin with. "Rehab" is a day by day process that goes on for a very long time - or it happens quickly, in some cases, usually due to the victim nearly dying and getting that "wake up call" from Death.

In any event, starlets are a dime a dozen in Hollywood. And there are plenty of more appealing and less brain dead starlets running about that we can be interested in.

Give me Emma Watson any day over Lindsay!

Ya'll want to blame Lindsey ... yet you obviously don't see that its the culture we have created here in the US that creates such disturbing personal tales of tragedy ....

Drugs aren't the problem ... American values and politics are ... what a hypocritical country we have become in the last 30 years ......... if she was on Hydrocodone under a doctors care I guess it would be fine ...

And watch , if she gets any significant jail time , like any regular joe would, I'll be very surprised ....... Money is the prime motivating factor in the US ... not Love, not Compassion ....... certainly not truth .......... and since she is a big earner watch her walk with littler or no jail time

What the frig has happened to this once great country?????

Been sold to the highest bidder!

You know, it's not always enough to just 'want' to get better. Some people have addictive personalities and it is in their genes to have addiction problems. For those kinds of people, to get off the addiction it is insanely hard.

Also, you don't know everything that she is going through... I know that if I had my face and everything I did all over the news, it would be extremely overwhelming to the point where I would not even know where to begin.

Don't judge a book by its cover: There are plenty of people who have done far worse than her, and the only reason everyone's all "Oh my gosh, what a horrible child" is because she's a movie star, which means everything she does is watched.

Posted by: Tamara | July 25, 2007 3:30 AM | Report abuse

What "personal tragedy"? Its a DUI arrest, thats all. She'll get over it. She's 21. You think she's the only 21 year old hot chick in LA or anywhere else that parties? Duh. Since when is it a shock to anyone that artists and performers use drugs and alcohol? I dont see you denigrating Edgar Allen Poe or Sigmund Freud or Jimi Hendricks or Judy Garland or Frank Sinatra or Robin Williams or George Carlin or Lenny Bruce or Gene Krupa any other performer in history. Can you think of one performer who was completely "clean" who was any good? Anita Bryant? Lawrence Welk? Puh'lease. Leave Lohan alone. She'll be fine. She had a few drinks and did a few lines and got caught by the pigs. Big friggin deal.

Stop making excuses for her and stop pretending it is only alcohol. The last time the police found a "small amount" of cocaine in her car. This time they let her friends go with the car and did not search it but still found cocaine in her pocket. I don;t care what her problems are, we all have problems. It is no excuse and the rest of us would be doing three years just for the felony posession of a narcotic.

I've never followed her career, and I'm not a fan. So why am I so knowing about her situation? The new obsession with famous people has gone a bit to far I think. I can't imagine being photographed in every situation. To me it's not right, doesn't anyone remember what happened to Princess Diane? Think about it, if you had a photog recording your every move, how would that make you feel. Don't get me wrong, it's not o.k what she did, but I think when all your life you have been taught and treated like you are not belonging to the rest of us, you're only set to mess up.At 21 thats alot to deal with. She has no excuse, but if you're a bit older, can you imagine if all the mistakes you made were aired in public?

Living a life in the public's eye almost 24/7 can have adverse repercussion.

Mistakes made are usually magnified and not forgotten.

The pressure (mental?) adds up.

It is a vicious cycle.

Please give her breathing space to resolve whatever it is she has to resolve.

Under similar situation, an 'ordinary' individual would 'probably' face far less repercussion.

She's partying like any other 21 years old. Rehab for someone that age is a joke. How could she know what addiction means when she has too much money to hit bottom? Who cares? However, being stupid enough to drive drunk with drugs in your pocket on a suspended license is just plain stupid. She is asking to be spanked and she will be. Again, who freaking cares?

Why do we try to give citizenship to ILLEGALS? Why do people think they can break the law without consequences.

Gees if this was the real world they would be arresting 30 people I know every weekend. Wake up people, Lindsay has just been living her hollywood "normal" life. Jees I hope she pulls through this and doesn't feel completely abnormal for what she's gone thru just because she is in the spotlight!

Posted by: God | July 25, 2007 10:06 AM | Report abuse

Pimped to the movies by her parents, Lindsay has a "mother" who wants to be her party pal, a "father" who uses every Lohan fiasco to get face time in the media (probably being generously paid for each word), and a whole raft of professional enablers who live off her money and fame, and cheer her on her way to a fatal trainwreck.

The Hollywood rehabs are a joke, just ripping off celebrities like Lindsay and Britney and then turning them loose to relapse and fail, again and again.

If/when Lindsay really hits bottom, and I pray she does that without killing anyone, she'll have to choose real sobriety or death, and that will take real treatment and a new life far from the spotlights of Hollywood. She has enough money to start over somewhere else, some small town in middle America where she's just one of many nobodies. I doubt she'll make the right choice. This girl is going to die, maybe not right away; being rich allows you to crash and burn slowly over a long period of time. But her addiction is going to kill her, as it kills thousands every year, and all the people around her who helped keep her sick and crazy and addicted will simply move, like sharks in the water, to a new young victim, and the next round of stories will begin.

I am guessing she needs in patient mental health care that has a rehab component. The drugs are a symptom of the problem, not the problem itself.

Posted by: Anonymous | July 25, 2007 11:15 AM | Report abuse

Don't blame the rehab centers...they are effective for people who want to change. I'm sure she has some PR person telling her that going into rehab will look good to a judge and shows that you are making an effort to correct your problem. LiLo needs to go to jail. The best and cheapest detox facility around. And unlike rehab, there's no leaving before your time is up. Unless of course your name is Paris Hilton.

Posted by: Anonymous | July 25, 2007 11:37 AM | Report abuse

Lindsay (and others) needs to learn that having fun and acting responsibly are not mutually exclusive. I don't begrudge anyone from having what they consider to be a good time as long as it doesn't kill/maim or otherwise impact on my or anyone elses life. If she choses to self-destruct, let her have at it -- just don't hurt anyone else. What she also needs to understand is that sooner or later her money is either going to disappear either up her nose, in court costs, or law suits. Additionally, her already shaky reputation in the Hollywood business world will crumble. If you can't make money for the studios, you're a nonentity for them.

It is so sad that someone so young and talented is plagued with so much problems. At this age has everything that some people work their whole lifetime to, talent, fame, money...why waste it. There is so much need, pain, suffering and environmental problems in this world and as a role model she can make a difference. I hope she gets her life together and I pray that she finds worthwhile endeavors to exhause her energies. The world need it.

This is sick to look at. Just go ahead and put her down like the rabid animal that she is.

It seems as long as they don't kill anybody in the process, law inforcement doesn't see fit to actually punish these people. Could you imagine if we were all treated this way if we were caught driving drunk with cocaine in the car? What if any of US got pulled over driving drunk with two priors. I don't think we would be sent off to a resort for a month.
But we aren't like her. We don't all have generations of wealth in our families. We don't all spend our lives spending more money partying than some do their whole lives. We aren't all crack wh*res. One of the reasons these rich, elite, airheads (paris and nicole included) look down and laugh at the middle class from their little adolescent fantasy world is that they get away with stuff like this and we don't. And at the same time they get worshipped by the same people they detest, because we live in a society that is obbsessed with celebrities and the rich.

The problem w/the rehab facilities that lindsey went to are too high brow. The only people who can afford them are the rich & famous. I can just imagine their group sessions: talking about their movie careers, their narcissistic parents, blah,blah,blah...
Lindsey needs to attend the aa meetings where all the members have had very low bottoms! only then she'll really learn about addiction and where it could take you!

Lindsay Lohan says the drugs were not hers! What do you think? Here is a poll:

I think Lindsey needs help, maybe it has to do with family issues with her dad who was in jail and needed a father beside her maybe she wants her whole family to be togather and not apart.
